{"id":203979,"date":"2023-01-26T17:03:35","date_gmt":"2023-01-26T17:03:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/d45h139.public.uconn.edu\/sites\/news\/?p=30492"},"modified":"2024-04-04T03:29:00","modified_gmt":"2024-04-04T07:29:00","slug":"eight-engineering-students-chosen-as-mcnair-scholars","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/today.uconn.edu\/2023\/01\/eight-engineering-students-chosen-as-mcnair-scholars\/","title":{"rendered":"Eight Engineering Students Chosen as McNair Scholars"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>By Claire Galvin, UConn School of Engineering Manager of Communications and Digital Strategy<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The UConn McNair Scholars Program identified its next cohort of scholars last month, identifying eight engineering students that are leading the way in STEM fields.<\/p>\n<p>The program prepares first-generation, low-income and historically underrepresented students for M.S. and Ph.D. studies in STEM disciplines. Of the 22 selected scholars for 2022-2023 academic year, eight have ties to engineering.
