Very well, according to a major new national survey.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.forbes.com\/lists\/best-employers-by-state\/?sh=15a1ca001983\">Forbes and research firm Statista recently ranked the best places to work in each<\/a> state based on employee survey responses, and UConn was scored as the sixth-best place to work in Connecticut, higher than any other university or college.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs a global institution, our faculty and\u00a0staff\u00a0represent all corners of the world,\u201d according to UConn\u2019s Division of Human Resources. \u201cUConn strives to empower and celebrate its employees by fostering an atmosphere of belonging and inclusion.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Initiatives like the <a href=\"https:\/\/spiritawards.uconn.edu\/\">Spirit Awards<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/hr.uconn.edu\/employee-appreciation-week\/\">Faculty and Staff Appreciation Week<\/a>, and the <a href=\"https:\/\/hr.uconn.edu\/employee-recognition\/\">Years of Service Recognition<\/a> program help create a sense of togetherness and loyalty among UConn\u2019s nearly 10,000 employees, along with <a href=\"https:\/\/diversity.uconn.edu\/\">the University\u2019s robust commitment<\/a> to the promotion of diversity, equity, inclusion, and justice in all that it does.<\/p>\n<aside class=\"grey-sidebar floating-sidebar col-xs-12 col-sm-4\">\n  <\/p>\n<p><strong>According to the survey, the Top 10 best places to work in Connecticut are:<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Lego Group<\/li>\n<li>Lockheed Martin<\/li>\n<li>Pfizer<\/li>\n<li>City of Stamford<\/li>\n<li>Gartner<\/li>\n<li>UConn<\/li>\n<li>Middlesex Health<\/li>\n<li>Costco Wholesale<\/li>\n<li>Yale<\/li>\n<li>IBM<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><\/aside>\n<p>For the survey, Forbes and Statista surveyed 70,000 full- or part-time employees across all 50 states and the District of Columbia who work at companies with more than 500 employees. Participants were surveyed on whether they would recommend their employer to family and friends, as well as criteria like working conditions, compensation, diversity, potential for growth and development, and the company\u2019s overall reputation.<\/p>\n<p>Participants were also asked to assess employers beyond their own: Respondents could evaluate employers in their particular state; nationally, participants were able to rate employers anywhere within their respective industries. All surveys were anonymous to encourage candor.<\/p>\n<p>The number of organizations that made the list in each state varied by the size of its companies and workforce. Ultimately, a total of 1392 organizations made the list.
