{"id":205257,"date":"2023-09-28T15:27:26","date_gmt":"2023-09-28T19:27:26","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/today.uconn.edu\/?p=205257"},"modified":"2023-09-29T09:50:37","modified_gmt":"2023-09-29T13:50:37","slug":"dental-students-reach-out-to-help-serve-connecticut-veterans","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/today.uconn.edu\/2023\/09\/dental-students-reach-out-to-help-serve-connecticut-veterans\/","title":{"rendered":"Dental Students Reach out to Help Serve Connecticut Veterans"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>With access to oral health care a significant hurdle for many veterans, students in the School of Dental Medicine helped provide free oral health screenings and education to nearly 60 veterans in Connecticut.<\/p>\n<p>The students recently participated in the 2023 Connecticut Department of Veterans Affairs Stand Down event\u2014a daylong event that connects Connecticut veterans with essential services and programs offered by federal, state, and local agencies, organizations, and non-profits.
