UConn Health\u2019s Dr. Jaclyn Olsen Jaeger<\/a> is now a fellow of the American College of Physicians, a distinction recognizing achievements in internal medicine.<\/p>\n

Jaeger, an internist and geriatrician in the UConn Center on Aging<\/a>, was elected upon the recommendation of peers and reviews of the ACP\u2019s credentials subcommittee.<\/p>\n

\u201cDr. Jaeger\u2019s recognition as a fellow of the American College of Physicians speaks volumes as to her abilities and excellence in Internal Medicine,\u201d says Dr. George Kuchel<\/a>, director of the UConn Center on Aging.<\/p>\n

Jaeger is certified in internal medicine and geriatric medicine by the American Board of Internal Medicine. She holds additional certification in medical directorship and received the 2023 University of Connecticut School of Medicine Dan A. Henry, MD, Clinician Educator Faculty Award.<\/p>\n

A graduate of UConn\u2019s internal medicine residency program<\/a>, Jaeger holds a doctor of osteopathic medicine degree from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine, and was a geriatric medicine fellow at Harvard Medical School.<\/p>\n

\u201cFellowship in the American College of Physicians is a valued designation for internal medicine physician leaders,\u201d Jaeger says. \u201cWhile completing my internal medicine residency training at UConn, I noticed many of my preceptors and mentors were fellows in the American College of Physicians. To me, they were role models dedicated to teaching trainees and caring for patients. With their mentorship and my passion for internal medicine, I am honored to have earned fellowship status and feel a strong sense of responsibility to be an exemplar to others. This designation is very special.\u201d<\/p>\n

The ACP is the largest medical specialty organization and the second-largest physician group in the U.S. Its members include 143,000 internal medicine physicians, related subspecialists, and medical students.<\/p>\n
