The professors discussed its local impacts and what the state can do about them.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233117&quot;:false,&quot;134233118&quot;:false,&quot;201341983&quot;:1,&quot;335551550&quot;:1,&quot;335551620&quot;:1,&quot;335559685&quot;:0,&quot;335559737&quot;:0,&quot;335559738&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:160,&quot;335559740&quot;:390}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The talk, titled \u201cClimate Change in Connecticut: Threats and Responses\u201d was moderated by Professor-in-Residence Joe MacDougald, executive director of UConn Law\u2019s Center for Energy and Environmental Law. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The panel included Professor and Head of Geography, Sustainability, Community and Urban Studies Anji Seth, who studies how regional climates are likely to evolve under global warming, and Professor of Marine Sciences James O\u2019Donnell, executive director of the Connecticut Institute for Resilience and Climate Adaptation, who studies ocean circulation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Also on the panel were Paschaline Nsiah-Asare, a teaching fellow at the UConn School of Law and an attorney with a special interest in comparative energy and environmental policy, and Emmanouil Anagnostou, Board of Trustees Distinguished Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering in UConn\u2019s College of Engineering. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The event gave attendees <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">the opportunity to learn<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\"> about the multifaceted challenges posed by climate change in Connecticut and the proactive responses led by UConn. <\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Panelists spoke about the interdisciplinary perspectives of climate science, energy and resilience policy, and environmental justice.
