UConn is dedicated to supporting students and community members with the diverse aspects of off-campus living.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur goal is to help students find off campus housing, based on their needs, and to ensure their success as responsible community members and representatives of the University of Connecticut,\u201d says Armstrong.<\/p>\n<p>Off-campus and commuter services will be available to students at UConn Storrs, regional campuses, and all professional schools, by contacting the Dean of Students Office.<\/p>\n<p>Key services include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Assisting students in finding off-campus housing through the <a href=\"https:\/\/offcampushousing.uconn.edu\/\">UConn Off-Campus Housing <\/a>\u00a0website for all campus locations.<\/li>\n<li>Collaborating with the Town of Mansfield and other municipalities on matters related to student living in the community. This involves working with town officials, police agencies, building and housing inspectors, planning and zoning officials, and community members.<\/li>\n<li>Addressing community concerns by coordinating with municipal agencies and property owners to find appropriate and effective solutions.<\/li>\n<li>Offering outreach and education to off-campus students on being respectful neighbors and communicating how their actions impact the community and those around them.<\/li>\n<li>Serve as a point of contact for students seeking advice on off-campus housing and commuter issues through the Dean of Students Office.<\/li>\n<li>Holding regular meetings with property managers near the Storrs campus and maintaining the <a href=\"https:\/\/offcampushousing.uconn.edu\/\">UConn Off-Campus Housing<\/a> website as a resource for students seeking or residing in rental housing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cMany UConn students are only community members for four years, and outreach efforts to students living off-campus in residential neighborhoods, particularly in single-family homes that had been converted to student rentals, have been a cornerstone to improving the quality of life and helping proactively address and prevent problematic behaviors,\u201d says Mansfield Town Manager Ryan Aylesworth. \u201cThe Town of Mansfield looks forward to continuing our close collaboration with UConn\u2019s off-campus student services program to achieve positive outcomes for both students and the broader community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOur relationship with off-campus services at UConn has improved the quality of life for both the off-campus students and their neighbors,\u201d says Mansfield Mayor Toni Moran &#8217;67 MA, &#8217;88 JD. \u201cI am extremely grateful for the role that John Armstrong and his staff have played.
