I never would have imagined being able to do so.&#8221; &#8211; Elizabeth Mayerson, DNP, RN, APRN, FNP-BC, CNE<\/span><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">This is Brent\u2019s second bachelor\u2019s degree since they have been married, after finishing UConn\u2019s Mechanical Engineering Program in 2010. In addition to engineering, Brent has explored multiple\u00a0career paths previous to joining the CEIN\/BS program &#8211; f<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">rom aquarium curator, microfilm chemist, and software creator to operations manager with Cigna\u2019s information technology team.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134233117&quot;:false,&quot;134233118&quot;:false,&quot;335557856&quot;:16777215,&quot;335559738&quot;:0,&quot;335559739&quot;:0}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Like many others who pursue nursing, Brent wants to help people. On one such occasion, Brent vividly remembers a time where he jumped into action when he encountered an employee suffering from a serious medical episode. Fortunately, Brent and another colleague were able to assist in a critical manner. Studies have repeatedly shown that being proactive is less costly, less invasive, and more beneficial for patients and for the <\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">general population. He received his bachelor\u2019s in business management and played on the golf team, but soon after decided to pursue nursing instead. He intends to work towards becoming a flight nurse on a trauma team.<\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"none\">Kaeleigh and Logan write, \u201c<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">It is incredibly special to both of us to have our mother pinning us at graduation<\/span><span data-contrast=\"none\">. She has always been supportive and encouraged us to pursue nursing when we brought up the idea.
