{"id":224790,"date":"2025-01-31T11:15:30","date_gmt":"2025-01-31T16:15:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/today.uconn.edu\/?p=224790"},"modified":"2025-01-31T11:15:30","modified_gmt":"2025-01-31T16:15:30","slug":"taste-2-towns-runs-through-this-sunday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/today.uconn.edu\/2025\/01\/taste-2-towns-runs-through-this-sunday\/","title":{"rendered":"Taste 2 Towns Runs Through This Sunday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>From chef-driven full-service establishments to beloved counter-service favorites, restaurants in Windham and Mansfield are cooking up something great for visitors as Restaurant Week returns in 2025. The two weeks of delicious known as Taste 2 Towns has started and runs through Sunday, February 9, 2025.<\/p>\n<p>Participating restaurants and menus can be found at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.Taste2Towns.com\">Taste2Towns.com<\/a>. The towns of Mansfield and Windham have joined up with the Mansfield Downtown Partnership and Willimantic Downtown Neighborhood Association (WDNA) to collaborate for the fourth year of this popular promotion highlighting an expanding list of local restaurants showing off their most delicious dishes in the two communities.<\/p>\n<p>Participating restaurants, including options for dine-in and take-out menus, have special items, or multi-course offerings for a single price, known as <em>prix-fixe<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Among Taste 2 Towns returning restaurants is Trigo Wood-Fired Pizza, selected by the Connecticut Restaurant Association as the Restaurant of the Year for Windham County announced at its recent CRAZIES Awards. Trigo was also recognized for Pizza in the recent <em>Connecticut Magazine <\/em>survey of a panel of food experts\u2019 favorite places, and along with TaCo in Mansfield was called a \u201cHidden Gem.\u201d <em>Connecticut Magazine <\/em>also recognized Pho Delight Thai Restaurant, another participating restaurant from Windham, for both its Thai and Vietnamese specialties.<\/p>\n<p>The popular Ganset Wraps of Mansfield, selected by <em>Connecticut <\/em>as Best Overall Value, is also returning to Taste 2 Towns with its once-a-year custom platter offering.<\/p>\n<p>Additional popular restaurants are Fenton River Grille, Dog Lane Caf\u00e9, Little Aladdin Mediterranean Grill, Tavern at Spring Hill, and Huskies Restaurant and Bar of Mansfield, plus Dad\u2019s Doughs. Windham restaurants include Willimantic Brewing Company, Harp on Church both offering dine-in specials.<\/p>\n<p>The popular A Cupcake for Later, Paula and Jane Boba Caf\u00e9, Grounded, and The Fish Market are also offering specials for the promotion.<\/p>\n<p>Local businesses not directly associated with the food business are sponsors for \u00a0Taste 2 Towns too. Led by the Eastern Connecticut State University Foundation, Liberty Bank, Vanderman Place, and Berkshire Bank, these local businesses have signed on to support and to be associated with such a positive, exciting promotion<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRestaurants drive economic vitality,\u201d says Kathleen Paterson of the Mansfield Downtown Partnership. \u201cWith more than a half dozen new food establishments here in Mansfield this year, the food scene is gaining excitement and variety. Taste 2 Towns puts the spotlight on these creative businesses.
