Austin, P.E. (B.S. Chemical Engineering, \u201997), Director of Business Development at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.sciessent.com\/\">Sciessent, LLC<\/a>, recently had an <a href=\"http:\/\/www.meddeviceonline.com\/doc\/antimicrobial-related-trends-in-medical-device-design-0001\">article<\/a> published in Med Device Online, a resource for manufacturers involved in medical device design.\u00a0 In her commentary, \u201c5 Antimicrobial-Related Trends In Medical Device Design,\u201d Moloney explores the factors driving healthcare providers to compel medical device manufacturers and other suppliers to share liability for high hospital infection rates.\u00a0 Prior to joining Sciessent in 2011, she was a group leader for advanced technology at Covidien.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_22607\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-22607\" style=\"width: 90px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-22607 img-responsive lazyload\" data-src=\"http:\/\/d45h139.public.uconn.edu\/sites\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/jnichols-251x300.jpeg\" alt=\"Jim Nichols\" width=\"90\" height=\"108\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 90px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 90\/108;\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-22607\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Jim Nichols<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Jim R. Nichols (M.S. Keough, Sr. (B.S. Electrical Engineering, \u201956) of Sandy Hook passed away <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theridgefieldpress.com\/70185\/edward-c-keough-83\/#axzz4EsWc4H2F\">July 16, 2016 <\/a>at his home.\u00a0 His career spanned over 50 years beginning at CT-based Burndy Electrical Products. Other corporate roles moved his family up and down the east coast before returning to CT, spending 30 years in Wilton.\u00a0 Keough retired from Keough\u2019s Paint and Hardware, the business he and his wife founded in 1972 and now owned by their youngest son.\u00a0 He was 83.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_22609\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-22609\" style=\"width: 85px\" class=\"wp-caption alignright\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-22609 img-responsive lazyload\" data-src=\"http:\/\/d45h139.public.uconn.edu\/sites\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/DLehn-300x300.jpg\" alt=\"DLehn\" width=\"85\" height=\"85\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 85px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 85\/85;\" \/><figcaption id=\"caption-attachment-22609\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Daniel Lehn<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Daniel A. Lehn (B.S. Chemical Engineering, \u201981) of North Liberty, Iowa, died on July 19, 2016 following a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.press-citizen.com\/story\/news\/2016\/07\/21\/students-colleagues-remember-coe-professor-cyclist-who-died-dan-lehn-obituary\/87400224\/\">vehicular accident<\/a>.\u00a0 Lehn was a professor of psychology at Coe College and also served as associate dean of the faculty. \u00a0He had been with Coe since 1993.\u00a0 Lehn attended high school in Fairfield, Connecticut and earned his Ph.D. in Experimental Social Psychology at Dartmouth College in 1993.
