{"id":231002,"date":"2025-05-22T11:09:25","date_gmt":"2025-05-22T15:09:25","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/today.uconn.edu\/?p=231002"},"modified":"2025-05-22T11:19:55","modified_gmt":"2025-05-22T15:19:55","slug":"uconn-medical-students-nationally-present-ent-research-findings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/today.uconn.edu\/2025\/05\/uconn-medical-students-nationally-present-ent-research-findings\/","title":{"rendered":"UConn Medical Students Nationally Present ENT Research Findings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>UConn School of Medicine medical students had a strong showing at a national otolaryngology conference to present their research findings.<\/p>\n<p>The Combined Otolaryngology Spring Meetings took place in New Orleans on May 14-18 with several rising fourth-year UConn medical students participating.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cResearch experience is important for our UConn medical students because it helps with refinement of their problem-solving skills and understanding how medicine advances,\u201d says ENT Professor <a href=\"https:\/\/facultydirectory.uchc.edu\/profile?profileId=Parham-Kourosh\">Dr. Kourosh Parham<\/a>, program director for the Division of Otolaryngology &#8211; Head and Neck Surgery at UConn School of Medicine. \u201cOur students recognize the need for hard work and the necessity to engage in a large range of extracurricular activities from volunteerism\/community service to research and leadership.\u00a0 Consequently, our students get involved early \u2010 most in their first year of medical school.
