Venator-Santiago Appointed to Connecticut Advisory Board<\/span><\/h2>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/puertoricanstudies.clas.uconn.edu\/people\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Charles R. Venator-Santiago<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">,\u00a0associate professor of political science\u00a0and director of\u00a0El Instituto\u00a0and\u00a0UConn\u2019s\u00a0Puerto Rican Studies Initiative, has been appointed to the\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/wp.cga.ct.gov\/cwcseo\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Connecticut Commission on Women, Seniors, Children, Equity,\u00a0and Opportunity Advisory Board<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">. Venator-Santiago\u2019s term will run through June\u00a02027.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{&quot;134245418&quot;:true,&quot;134245529&quot;:true}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The commission is a nonpartisan agency within the state legislature that works to address issues affecting underrepresented populations, including women, children and their families, seniors, and African American, Asian Pacific-American, Latino,\u00a0and Puerto Rican communities.
