{"id":236690,"date":"2025-10-22T07:30:19","date_gmt":"2025-10-22T11:30:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/today.uconn.edu\/?p=236690"},"modified":"2025-10-17T16:36:45","modified_gmt":"2025-10-17T20:36:45","slug":"uncover-clues-to-the-future-at-experience-innovation-expo","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/today.uconn.edu\/2025\/10\/uncover-clues-to-the-future-at-experience-innovation-expo\/","title":{"rendered":"Uncover \u2018Clues to the Future\u2019 at Experience Innovation Expo"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Not everyone is destined to become detective \u2013 but everyone is naturally curious and creative, according to Aaron Rosman, \u201916 (CAHNR) \u201921 MBA, the operations manager at the <a href=\"https:\/\/werth.institute.uconn.edu\/\">Werth Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation<\/a> at UConn.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cYou might have thought, \u2018I know how to do something better than the norm,&#8217; and that\u2019s a start!\u201d says Rosman. \u201cCreativity is a pathway to innovation.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sometimes all you need, he notes, is to uncover the clues leading to your own creative side \u2013 and at UConn, there are a lot of ways for student sleuths to do just that.<\/p>\n<p>UConn undergrads in all years and majors are invited to investigate their own innovative path at the <a href=\"https:\/\/werth.institute.uconn.edu\/events\/experience-innovation-expo\/\">2025 Experience Innovation Expo: Clues to the Future<\/a> on Monday, October 27, from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Student Union Room 304.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/today.uconn.edu\/2018\/10\/first-innovation-expo-shows-opportunities-abound-campus\/\">First launched in 2018<\/a>, the Experience Innovation Expo has evolved \u2013 and changed names \u2013 over the years, but the Expo\u2019s goal has remained the same. This student-organized event offers a one-stop shop where undergraduates can get first-hand experience from their peers about programs, centers, events, clubs, organizations, and opportunities within the realm of innovation at UConn.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt the heart of the Expo is the idea that growth begins with curiosity,\u201d says student organizer Abigail Koval \u201926 (BUS). \u201cBy engaging with programs that highlight innovation, creativity, and entrepreneurship, students are encouraged to explore their passions, challenge their assumptions, and experiment with new possibilities. Whether it\u2019s designing a product, joining a startup initiative, or simply engaging in meaningful conversations with mentors and peers, the Expo acts as a catalyst for personal and professional discovery.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Sponsored by the\u00a0Werth Institute, the Expo is one of five signature events in the University\u2019s\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/discovery.fyp.uconn.edu\/\">Month of Discovery<\/a>, which is held annually to help students connect with opportunities for enrichment, research, innovation, and creativity throughout the month of October.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAt the Expo, we help you meet the students and mentors who host programs that allow you to explore your creative, innovative, and entrepreneurial sides,\u201d says Rosman, who serves as the advisor for the Expo\u2019s student organizing team. \u201cIn this way, the Expo helps transform the big question of \u2018what\u2019s next\u2019 into meaningful explorations of who you are and who you can become.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Students attending the Expo will be invited to search for clues to their future and explore the four quadrants of innovation at UConn, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Learning, with academic offerings and courses;<\/li>\n<li>Creating, including hands-on activities with the <a href=\"https:\/\/innovationzone.fyp.uconn.edu\/\">Innovation Zone Makerspace<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/innovatelabs.business.uconn.edu\/\">Innovate Labs<\/a>;<\/li>\n<li>Connecting with clubs and resources to help students explore their ideas; and<\/li>\n<li>Exploring, by discovering programs that provide resources \u2013 including financial \u2013 to help pursue ideas.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The Expo will also feature prizes, and attendance counts toward\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/discovery.fyp.uconn.edu\/\">Discovery Quest<\/a>, the month-long challenge aimed at encouraging students to earn points as they learn about all UConn has to offer in the fields of research, innovation, and creativity and to unlock the Future Innovator Achievement unique to this year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you\u2019re looking to have fun, this is the place for you,\u201d says Rosman. \u201cYou can successfully interact with this event in 10 minutes, or you can take your time and really savor meeting as many programs as you\u2019d like.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere\u2019s a little something for everyone here.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><em>The Experience Innovation Expo is a free event for UConn students.
