As we continue to evolve as a leading public research university, it is essential that our structures reflect and reinforce that connection — ensuring that every student is supported from classroom to community.

To that end, we write to explain an organizational realignment that enhances coordination between student-facing and academic units and positions our divisions to operate more cohesively in service to our shared mission, to be effective Dec. 1, 2025.

This step builds on years of collaboration between Academic Affairs and Student Life and Enrollment and reflects a continued focus on student success, belonging, and academic excellence.

Under this new structure:

The Center for Career Readiness and Life Skills, Dean of Students Office, Student Activities, Cultural Centers and Programs, and the Center for Students with Disabilities will now report to the Division of Student Life and Enrollment. These units will benefit from a unified network of support services and resources that supports a student-centered structure integrating the student experience and wellness under one umbrella.

The Office of the Registrar and the university’s academic integrity and misconduct functions will now report to the Office of the Provost, where their work in academic policy, curriculum, and records aligns closely with the university’s core academic operations.

These changes follow the reintegration of the Office of the Vice President for Research into the Provost’s Office earlier this semester, a move that restored an important alignment between academic and research functions. Together, these steps help to ensure that our university is best organized to serve students, faculty, and staff more effectively and strengthens UConn’s ability to deliver holistic, student-centered support.

We are grateful to the leaders and teams in these units for their commitment and collaboration during this transition. Your professionalism and care make a meaningful difference for our students and colleagues every day.

Thank you for your continued contributions to making UConn a community where every student can succeed and every idea can thrive.

Sincerely,

Pamir Alpay
Interim Provost and Executive Vice President for Academic Affairs

Nathan Fuerst
Vice President for Student Life and Enrollment

[1
[2162
post-237561","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-uncategorized
"publishpress_future_workflow_manual_trigger":
["GET
