The School currently serves 750 MBA students, enrolled in either a completely online MBA program or a flexible, hybrid alternative.

“As a public business school, our mission is to expand opportunity while delivering an education of the highest caliber,’’ says Professor Vishal Narayan, associate dean of business graduate programs. “The One-Year MBA is designed specifically to meet the evolving needs of professionals who are seeking an intensive, uncompromising academic experience that prepares them for business success in a shorter timeframe.”

Courses in Hartford, Stamford, or Online

The new program targets all levels of professionals seeking job- or career-changes. Mia Hawlk, executive director of MBA programs, says she expects the program to draw significant interest, based on conversations she has had with potential candidates.

“The MBA has long been the foundation of business education for rising leaders, but it’s far from outdated. Students may select from seven concentrations, including: Business Analytics, Business Ethics and Compliance; Finance; General Business; Management; Marketing and Supply Chain Management.

The UConn MBA program has received high rankings in recent surveys by Forbes, U.S. News and World Report and Poets and Quants, highlighting graduate success, career satisfaction, student support, and salary increases.

“We’re seeing an increased national demand for accelerated MBA programs,’’ says Michael Bozzi, director of MBA student services. “Students are eager to complete their degree and put it into use. We often have lawyers, physicians, engineers, and scientists pursuing MBAs, and we welcome those with a limited business background. We get them up-to-speed with foundational courses to foster professional development and ease their transition into graduate business education.’’

“It is rewarding to equip students with the cross-functional knowledge and credentials to pursue new roles in their industry, which might otherwise be inaccessible to them without strong business knowledge,’’ he says.

Program Enhances Accessibility for Busy Professionals

“Any time we can make our MBA program accessible to an even greater population, it makes me very proud,’’ Hawlk says. “This is an opportunity for students who can’t commit to a more traditional program.
