Receiving a Pharm.D. from\u00a0the\u00a0University of Maryland before completing her pharmacy practice residency at the University of Virginia System and a\u00a0specialty\u00a0residency\u00a0in primary care\u00a0from the W.G.\u00a0Magnuson\u00a0Clinical Center at the National Institutes of Health, Devra Dang is a Clinical Professor of Pharmacy Practice at UConn\u2019s School of Pharmacy.\u00a0In teaching topics like\u00a0primary care pharmacotherapy, health disparities, and non-prescription medications and self-care, Dang has inspired her students to\u00a0serve their communities.\u00a0<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

During her time at UConn,\u00a0Dang\u00a0has been a leader in interprofessional education, service-learning, and public engagement.\u00a0With more than two decades of impact on the UConn community,\u00a0she\u2019s\u00a0been the driving force behind transformative programs such as the IPE service-learning clinics and the Urban Service Track.\u00a0A pioneer in didactic and experiential teaching of pharmacy students and residents, Dang is part of the core faculty of the Urban Service Track curriculum\u00a0for several UConn schools. In developing health care professionals dedicated to caring for underserved patients and working in interprofessional teams\u00a0in this specialized program,\u00a0Dang\u00a0is passionate about seeing her communities thrive.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

As a devoted mentor at the School and a national leader in professional organizations, Dang continues to improve access to care for vulnerable populations within the state. Advancing healthcare education, Dang\u2019s service has earned recognition at the university, state, and national levels. She also serves as chair of UConn\u2019s Committee on Interprofessional Excellence in Healthcare, a multi-campus committee consisting of representatives from 11 health professions.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Practicing at the Burgdorf Primary Care Clinic in Hartford, Dang\u2019s clinical and research interests include innovative interprofessional education and team-based care, chronic disease management of underserved populations, medication adherence, neurodiversity, public health, and medication therapy management in outpatient settings.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
