The American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) Council<\/a> has appointed Sean Jeffery, Pharm.D., to the Geriatric Medicine Board<\/a> for a three-year term beginning July 1, 2026. Among other roles, the Specialty Board defines and refines standards for certification and Maintenance of Certification (MOC) in the discipline.<\/p>\n

Jeffery is the Director of Pharmacy Services at Integrated Care Partners, a physician-led, clinically integrated network responsible for Hartford Healthcare’s value-based practice transformation. Jeffery is responsible for managing Medicare Part D Star pharmacy quality measures and population health management, and supporting an integrated care-management team and employed medical group. Jeffery is also a Professor of Pharmacy Practice at the University of Connecticut School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences. His area of expertise is senior care pharmacy. He is currently the second vice president of the Connecticut Pharmacist Association.<\/p>\n

McDonald, MD, MPH<\/a>, President and CEO of ABIM and the ABIM Foundation<\/a>. \u201cThey bring much needed perspective and guidance, ensuring that ABIM Board Certification remains meaningful, relevant and valuable to physicians and the public alike.\u201d<\/p>\n

ABIM Governance<\/a> comprises more than 350 board certified physicians, patients, patient advocates and interprofessional healthcare team members on more than 50 boards and committees.<\/p>\n
