The Academic Affairs Subcommittee of the UConn Health Board of Directors recently approved the recommendations for promotions for three faculty members in the School of Dental Medicine.<\/p>\n
Dr. Tannin Schmidt, Department of Biomedical Engineering Dr. Pooja Bysani, Department of General Dentistry Dr. Jonathan Feldman, Department of Orthodontics \u201cI congratulate Drs. Bysani, Feldman and Schmidt on their respective\u00a0promotions,\u201d said Dr. Steven Lepowsky, dean of the School of Dental Medicine. \u201cThis well-deserved recognition is a reflection of continued excellence and achievement in teaching, research, scholarship, patient care, service and outreach.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI express my appreciation to the members of the Senior Appointments and\u00a0Promotions Committee (SAPC), chaired by Dr. Mark Litt, for their conscientious and rigorous review of our faculty and their accomplishments,\u201d the dean continued.<\/p>\n Faculty eligible for promotion are nominated by their respective department chair and undergo a rigorous review process that involves the School of Dental Medicine\u2019s Senior Appointments and Promotions Committee, along with approvals by the Dean\u2019s Advisory Committee, Lepowsky, and the provost.
