Home to UConn Engineering: All-Class Reunion Week Starts Oct. 3"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">This October, UConn Engineers from across generations are invited to come home.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The UConn College of Engineering will host\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/engineering.uconn.edu\/reunion-week\/\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Engineering All-Class Reunion Week<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0from Oct. 3\u00a0\u2013 8, 2026, bringing together alumni, students, faculty, donors, industry partners, and friends of the College for a week of connection, innovation, and Husky pride.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Whether returning to campus for the first time in years or reconnecting with familiar faces, attendees will have opportunities throughout the week to network, celebrate, engage with students and faculty, and experience the exciting momentum of UConn Engineering today.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">With events ranging from\u00a0a Homecoming\u00a0tailgate and family STEM activities to conversations about leadership, creativity, and career connections, attendees can join the College for one event or make a week of it.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cThe strength of UConn Engineering has always been rooted in its people \u2013 those who came before us, those who are here today, and those who will lead us into the future,\u201d says UConn College of Engineering Dean JC Zhao. \u201cBy coming together during Reunion Week and investing in our students, our alumni and friends help ensure that the next generation of UConn Engineers has the opportunities and support they need to make an impact.\u201d<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Reunion Week begins Saturday, Oct. 3, with the\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.events.foundation.uconn.edu\/ereg\/index.php?eventid=891515\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">UConn Engineering Homecoming Tailgate<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, bringing alumni, students, faculty, and friends together before the Homecoming football game.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The pregame celebration offers a chance to reconnect with classmates and colleagues, meet other members of the UConn Engineering community, and start the week surrounded by Husky spirit and engineering pride before heading into the game.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The celebration continues Sunday, Oct. 4, with the\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.events.foundation.uconn.edu\/ereg\/index.php?eventid=892882&amp;\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">UConn Engineering STEM Family Field Day<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, an afternoon of discovery, creativity, and hands-on fun for the entire family.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Through interactive exhibits and activities, guests will have opportunities to meet student innovators, explore engineering and technology, and introduce young learners to the possibilities of STEM.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The event offers alumni a chance to share their connection to UConn Engineering with their families while experiencing some of the creativity and ingenuity of today&#8217;s students.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">On Tuesday, Oct. 6, the College will host the\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.events.foundation.uconn.edu\/ereg\/index.php?eventid=892885&amp;\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Inaugural Jeanine Armstrong Gouin Women in Leadership in Engineering Lectureship,<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u00a0celebrating leadership, innovation, and the impact of women in engineering.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The inaugural event will bring together alumni, students, faculty, and industry leaders for an evening of conversation, networking, and community while recognizing the contributions and leadership of women across the engineering profession.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<figure (Sean Flynn\/UConn Photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The lectureship is part of the broader Jeanine Armstrong Gouin Initiative for Women in Leadership, which creates opportunities to support and develop the next generation of engineering leaders.\u00a0Established through the generosity of UConn Engineering\u00a0alumna\u00a0Jeanine Armstrong Gouin \u201987 (ENG), the initiative provides programming focused on leadership development, mentorship, professional growth, and building connections across the engineering community.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">On Wednesday, Oct. 7, Reunion Week continues with the\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.events.foundation.uconn.edu\/ereg\/index.php?eventid=892889&amp;\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">Krenicki Arts &amp; Engineering Event<\/span><\/a><span data-contrast=\"auto\">, exploring the intersection of engineering, technology, and the arts.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The\u00a0Krenicki\u00a0Arts &amp; Engineering Institute, a partnership between the UConn College of Engineering and the School of Fine Arts, brings together\u00a0technical\u00a0expertise\u00a0and artistic creativity to inspire\u00a0new approaches\u00a0to innovation.\u00a0Through interdisciplinary programs and experiences, the Institute encourages engineers, artists, designers,\u00a0and creators to collaborate, approach complex challenges\u00a0from new perspectives, and develop imaginative solutions.\u00a0<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Attendees will discover how bringing creative and technical perspectives together can lead to\u00a0new approaches\u00a0to innovation, help solve complex challenges, and shape the future.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">The event reflects the increasingly interdisciplinary nature of engineering and\u00a0provides another opportunity for members of the UConn community\u00a0to connect around ideas that extend beyond traditional disciplinary boundaries.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Reunion Week concludes Thursday, Oct. 8, with Engineers Getting Connected, one of the week&#8217;s signature opportunities for alumni and industry professionals to engage directly with current UConn Engineering students.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Built around conversation, mentorship, and networking, Engineers Getting Connected gives alumni and industry professionals an opportunity to share their experiences and perspectives while helping students build relationships that can shape their academic and professional journeys.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">For students, it is a chance to learn from those who have already navigated careers in engineering and related fields. For alumni and industry participants, it is an opportunity to give back, expand their own networks, and help inspire the next generation of UConn Engineers.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Alumni can also commemorate Reunion Week with an exclusive\u00a0<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/www.events.foundation.uconn.edu\/ereg\/index.php?eventid=893214\"><span data-contrast=\"none\">UConn Engineering Alumni Day T-shirt.<\/span><\/a><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Whether returning to campus after decades away or staying\u00a0closely connected\u00a0to the College, the shirt offers alumni another way to celebrate their place in the UConn Engineering community.<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cOur alumni are such an important part of the UConn Engineering community, and Reunion Week is really about creating opportunities\u00a0to bring that community back together,\u201d says\u00a0Shannon Nichols,\u00a0Associate\u00a0Director of\u00a0Development and\u00a0Alumni Relations, Engineering,\u00a0for the UConn Foundation. \u201cWe hope alumni will come back to reconnect with old friends, build new relationships, and see firsthand how UConn Engineering continues to grow and evolve.\u201d<\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">Reunion Week is also an opportunity for alumni and friends to help create meaningful experiences for the next generation of UConn Engineers.
