Civil Engineering, \u201803, \u201808) has been named a 2018 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hartfordbusiness.com\/article\/20180806\/PRINTEDITION\/308029944\"><em>40 Under 40<\/em><\/a> award recipient by the Hartford Business Journal. A regional transmission &amp; distribution manager at Burns &amp; McDonnell, Cabral served as program manager for FirstEnergy&#8217;s $1 billion large transmission project program and grew a team of four to over 80 project managers, schedulers, engineers, cost analysts and construction representatives within 12 months. That program\u2019s success led to FirstEnergy choosing Burns &amp; McDonnell for a more than $5 billion initiative called <em>Energizing the Future<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Robert Catudal (B.S. Chemical Engineering, \u201981) has been named regional director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at <a href=\"https:\/\/corporate.exxonmobil.com\/en\/\">ExxonMobil<\/a> Chemical Company. In his nearly 40 years with ExxonMobil, Catudal leaves his post as chemical plant manager in Baytown, TX for his new position with the company in Brussels, Belgium. He began his career with the company in 1981 in Baton Rouge holding numerous technical, operations, engineering and process supervisory and management positions in Baton Rouge, Baytown, and Houston.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Thomas M. Ionta, P.E. (B.S. Civil Engineering, \u201879) has joined <a href=\"http:\/\/transystems.com\/Home.aspx\">TranSystems Corp.<\/a> as a vice president and senior project manager in the company\u2019s Santa Ana, California, office. With more than 38 years of experience, Ionta has worked on projects for the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans), Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA), Riverside County Transportation Commission (RCTC), and the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (Metro) in southern California.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Inaam Khan (B.S. Mechanical Engineering, \u201914) launched <a href=\"https:\/\/ikhanicstore.com\/\">I-Khanic, LLC<\/a>, a luxury line of colorful, whimsical, performance socks, in 2017. Starting with men\u2019s dress socks that people loved, Khan expanded to an athletic sock, and then, responding to popular demand primarily from young women, he designed an ankle sock. While most sales have been conducted via the company website, promotional activities have extended to manufacturers\u2019 conventions and on-site sales at major Connecticut companies like Cigna.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Thomas G. Lewis, P.E., J.D. (B.S., M.S. Civil Engineering, \u201886, \u201891) has joined the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.louisberger.com\/about\">Louis Berger<\/a> Board of Directors. President, U.S. Division, at Louis Berger, Lewis has also served as group vice president for the U.S. domestic business segment and, previously, manager of the environmental and disaster management services practice area. He is a licensed professional engineer in three U.S. states and serves on several industry boards and committees, including the Sustainable Infrastructure Advisory Board at Harvard University and the Transportation Research Board.
