{"id":2785,"date":"2009-07-02T10:38:34","date_gmt":"2009-07-02T14:38:34","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/today.uconn.edu\/?p=2785"},"modified":"2011-05-31T12:38:03","modified_gmt":"2011-05-31T16:38:03","slug":"2009-women%e2%80%99s-achievement-awards","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/today.uconn.edu\/2009\/07\/2009-women%e2%80%99s-achievement-awards\/","title":{"rendered":"2009 Women\u2019s Achievement Awards"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>STORRS, Conn. \u2013 Twenty University of Connecticut students have been recognized for their academic achievements as recipients of this year\u2019s Outstanding Senior Women Academic Achievement Awards and the 100 Years of Women Scholarships.<\/p>\n<p>The students received their awards during a ceremony held May 8 in the Student Union. This year\u2019s recipients of the Outstanding Senior Women Academic Achievement Award included, for the first time, students from the Schools of Medicine and Dental Medicine. The dean of each school selects a graduating woman who has demonstrated a dedication to research and service to the University community, as well as academic excellence.<\/p>\n<p>The 100 Years of Women Scholarship is awarded annually to a current undergraduate or graduate student, or a high school senior planning to enroll at UConn.
