Civil Engineering, \u201875)<strong> <\/strong>was appointed Vice President, Project Controls for Phoenix Solar North America.\u00a0 Chip is a certified Project<a href=\"http:\/\/d45h139.public.uconn.edu\/sites\/news\/media\/2011\/03\/alumni2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignright size-full wp-image-3854 img-responsive lazyload\" title=\"alumni2\" data-src=\"http:\/\/d45h139.public.uconn.edu\/sites\/news\/media\/2011\/03\/alumni2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"288\" height=\"292\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 288px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 288\/292;\" \/><\/a>Management Professional (PMP) and has served as project manager and project control specialist on dozens of successful large-scale projects in the energy field. \u00a0He has actively managed large-scale engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) projects, enterprise project management solution implementations, information technology initiatives and company start-ups. Chip draws on over 30 years of experience to design and implement cost control and risk management solutions for project portfolios.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Mark Biamonte<\/strong> (M.S. Mechanical Engineering, \u201801) was named the Chief Systems Engineer for the Space Systems division of Hamilton Sundstrand, part of United Technologies Corporation (UTC).\u00a0 His career began 10 years ago, when he joined Hamilton Sundstrand Space, Land &amp; Sea as a Systems Analyst in the Systems Engineering group.\u00a0 Mark eventually became the lead systems engineer on a refrigeration cycle development program for NASA prior to his recent promotion.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Joseph Fritz<\/strong> (B.S. Electrical Engineering, \u201884) was appointed Vice President, Research and Operations for Lucintel, a leading global management consulting and market research.\u00a0 In his new role, Joseph is responsible for managing production of market reports, while ensuring that the content quality and presentation format of these reports meets or exceeds customer expectations.\u00a0 He has 25 years\u2019 experience in planning, operations, business development, and market research, gained from working for General Electric, Alcoa\/Howmet, and Doncasters. \u00a0Joseph earned his MBA from Union College.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Stay in touch with fellow UConn engineering alumni.
