Massey History of Medicine and Medical Humanities Lecture Series<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Thompson will present \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/library.uchc.edu\/hms\/pdfs\/Thompson_May'11.pdf\">Therapeutic Experience and Expectations in the Early U.S. Republic<\/a>\u201d\u00a0<strong>Tuesday, May 17<\/strong>, at 7 p.m. in the Low Learning Center.<\/p>\n<p>Thompson&#8217;s article \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/findarticles.com\/p\/articles\/mi_qa3837\/is_201010\/ai_n56443411\/\">John Denison Hartshorn: A Colonial Apprentice in \u2018Physick\u2019 and Surgery<\/a>\u201d appeared in the Fall 2010 Historical Journal of Massachusetts. Her doctoral dissertation was titled \u201cDr. Green is not God: Patient-physician relations in early America.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The Robert U. Massey History of Medicine and Medical Humanities Lecture Series, organized by\u00a0<a href=\"mailto:ralpharcari@yahoo.com\">Ralph Arcari<\/a>, assistant professor in the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.commed.uchc.edu\/\">Department of Community Medicine and Health Care<\/a>, is a series of talks presented monthly from October through May.
