And anyone who coaches a collision sport like football for four decades is bound to pick up a thing or two about sports injuries.<\/p>\n<p>On Monday, April 11, Pasqualoni will join sports medicine experts from the <a href=\"http:\/\/nemsi.uchc.edu\/\">New England Musculoskeletal Institute<\/a> for a free program, \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/nemsi.uchc.edu\/education\/continuing\/pdfs\/flyer_collision.pdf\">Care of the Collision Athlete<\/a>,\u201d at the UConn Health Center.<\/p>\n<div style=\"width: 175px;float: left;border: 1px #C3CCD5 solid;padding: 12px;background-color: #eaedf2;margin: 9px 9px 9px 0\">\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/today.uchc.edu\/audio\/trojian_4_7_11.mp3\">Dr. Trojian on \u201cLeatherneck and Lace\u201d<\/a><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/nemsi.uchc.edu\/physicians\/bios\/arciero.html\">Dr. Robert Arciero<\/a>, chief of the UConn Health Center\u2019s Sports Medicine Division, <a href=\"http:\/\/nemsi.uchc.edu\/physicians\/bios\/trojian.html\">Dr. Thomas Trojian<\/a>, director of the UConn Health Center\u2019s Injury Prevention and Sports Outreach Programs, and <a href=\"http:\/\/nemsi.uchc.edu\/physicians\/bios\/deberardino.html\">Dr. Thomas DeBerardino<\/a>, an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and joint preservation, will cover topics including anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injuries, concussions, and shoulder separations.<\/p>\n<p>Pasqualoni will discuss changes he\u2019s seen with collision athletes over the years. He will be available for autographs after the formal speaking program.<\/p>\n<p>The program also will include remarks from <a href=\"http:\/\/nemsi.uchc.edu\/physicians\/bios\/lieberman.html\">Dr. Jay Lieberman<\/a>, director of the New England Musculoskeletal Institute, as well as orthopaedic surgeons Drs. <a href=\"http:\/\/nemsi.uchc.edu\/physicians\/bios\/mazzocca.html\">Augustus Mazzocca<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/nemsi.uchc.edu\/physicians\/bios\/shea.html\">Kevin Shea<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Collision injuries are not exclusive to football. They can occur in soccer, lacrosse, baseball, hockey, and even basketball.<\/p>\n<p>The program is open to all athletes of all ages and starts at 7 p.m. in the Low Learning Center.
