Meghan McCain, a well known blogger and daughter of U.S. Senator and former Republican presidential candidate John McCain, spoke to UConn students last night at the Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts.<\/p>\n

McCain, a self-described ‘progressive republican,’ discussed her experiences in politics; her support for LGBTQ equality \u2013 although she identifies herself as heterosexual; and her stand on civility in politics and the media.<\/p>\n

Her talk, which was hosted by the Rainbow Center, was timed to coincide with National Coming Out Day on Oct. 11.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
