McCarthy<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/d45h139.public.uconn.edu\/sites\/news\/electrical-computer-engineering-senior-design-day-2010-2.php\/fullphoto-sr-design-eces_p10-071\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-542\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-542 img-responsive lazyload\" data-src=\"http:\/\/d45h139.public.uconn.edu\/sites\/news\/media\/2010\/06\/fullphoto-Sr.Design-eces_p10-071-229x300.jpg\" alt=\"fullphoto-Sr.Design-eces_p10-071\" width=\"229\" height=\"300\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 229px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 229\/300;\" \/><\/a>Senior Design Day was held Friday April 30, 2010 in Wilbur Cross.\u00a0 After months of blood, sweat and tears the Electrical &amp;\u00a0Computer Engineering (ECE)\u00a0department teams were ready to display their projects. \u00a0As an added incentive, several ECE faculty were enlisted to assess the best project demonstration.\u00a0\u00a0The \u201cSurface Contour Profiler\u201d team received the First Place Award.\u00a0 Sponsored by Phonon Corporation, Electrical Engineering (EE) students Corey Benoit, Joseph LaRosa, Kevin Perkins and Andrew Tan\u00a0designed and manufactured a custom Surface Acoustic Wave (SAW) components and modules for defense and space industries.\u00a0 Second Place was awarded to the \u201cHealth Monitoring of Structures\u201d team sponsored by Dr. Jonathan Russell.\u00a0 The team consisted of Eric Snapper (EE), Jeffery Urban (Computer Engineering-CMPE) and Christopher Von Kohorn (Mechanical Engineering-ME).\u00a0\u00a0An Honorable Mention was given to the EE sponsored \u201cSeebeck Measurement Device\u201d team of EE students Brian Crabtree, Adam Cywar and Nick Williams.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Senior Design Day was held Friday April 30, 2010 in Wilbur Cross.
