Stevens<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Cancer epidemiologist <a href=\"http:\/\/www.commed.uchc.edu\/faculty\/stevens\/\">Richard Stevens<\/a> is among the experts featured in the independent film \u201c<a href=\"http:\/\/movies.nytimes.com\/2012\/01\/18\/movies\/the-city-dark-a-documentary-by-ian-cheney-review.html\">The City Dark<\/a>,\u201d a documentary about light pollution and losing the night sky. Stevens was invited to be part of the film\u2019s theatrical debut in New York City Jan. 18, at the IFC Center in Greenwich Village. Stevens\u2019 research has uncovered evidence of a connection between artificial light at night and certain cancers. His work contributed to the <a href=\"http:\/\/today.uchc.edu\/headlines\/2007\/nov07\/graveyard\/index.html\">2007 declaration of shift work as a \u201cprobable carcinogen\u201d by the International Agency for Cancer Research<\/a>. There will be a screening of \u201cThe City Dark\u201d at E.O.
