She is a  Student Ambassador for UNESCO, or United Nations Educational Scientific  and Cultural Organization, where her job is to help promote human  rights education.  Through UNESCO, Sharielle took a trip to Rwanda,  which opened her eyes to the effect a community&#8217;s strength has on its  ability to climb out of trying times. Over this past spring break,  Sharielle visited Cherokee Nation in Oklahoma through UConn&#8217;s  alternative spring break program.  The group of students worked to help  build homes, greenhouses, and other resources that will be useful to the  occupants of the area.
