As part of its kick-off, beginning on April 4, the University will host a three-and-a-half day series of events called “Kuali Days” aimed at educating UConn staff and faculty about the new system.

The kick-off will feature two keynote speakers: Patrick J. Burns, vice president for information technology and dean of libraries at Colorado State University, and Brad Wheeler, vice president for information technology and CIO at Indiana University, who is also a professor of information systems at IU’s Kelley School of Business and chairman of the Kuali Foundation.

Topics addressed by the keynote speakers will include an overview of the Kuali collaborations for higher education; how decisions to collaborate will impact higher education in the decade ahead; and the implementation of the Kuali Financial System at Colorado State University.

“UConn Kuali Days is an opportunity for UConn staff and faculty to become informed about the various modules included with KFS and to learn from keynote speakers about community developed open source software and the implementation of KFS elsewhere,” said Charles Eaton, UConn’s Controller. “This will serve as an important introduction to the software for all those who will begin to use KFS this summer, or anyone interested in the open source software.”

The University began an extensive evaluation of KFS beginning in 2007, and began implementing the system in January 2011. UConn Kuali Days will be followed by system testing in April and May, as well as hands-on training beginning in late May.

The April 4 event will be held at Jorgensen and run from 9 to 11:30 a.m. Visit http://kuali.uconn.edu/html/Kuali_Days.html for more information about the keynote speakers, and to register for the various Kuali Informational Sessions to be held at the Bishop Center on April 4, 5, 9, and 10.

A series of events beginning April 4 will provide faculty and staff with information about the new financial system, to be launched at UConn in July.

[1
[39
post-57303","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-uncategorized
"publishpress_future_workflow_manual_trigger":
["GET
