The U.S. Olympic Women\u2019s Basketball Team, led by six former Huskies and coached by Geno Auriemma, won its unprecedented fifth-consecutive Olympic gold medal on Saturday in London, defeating France 86-50. The USA women have a 41-game Olympic winning streak that began with the 1992 bronze medal game.<\/p>\n

The former Huskies include Sue Bird \u201902 (CLAS) and Diana Taurasi \u201905 (CLAS), who won their third gold medals; Swin Cash \u201902 (CLAS), who won her second gold medal; and three first-time gold winners: Tina Charles \u201910 (CLAS), Maya Moore \u201911 (CLAS), and Asjha Jones \u201902 (BUS).<\/p>\n
