During Cornucopia, UConn Blooms gave out free roses to the first 300 people attending, and invited students to take part in the Keep It Alive! contest by taking home a potted plant of their choice and keeping it alive through Dec. 7, when the plants will be judged. The sale of plants grown in the greenhouses helps support the plant science department.<\/p>\n<figure id=\"attachment_66078\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-66078\" style=\"width: 275px\" class=\"wp-caption alignleft\"><a href=\"https:\/\/today.uconn.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/UConnBlooms120923a011.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"wp-image-66078 img-responsive lazyload\" title=\"Cornucopia - Roses\" data-src=\"https:\/\/today.uconn.edu\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/09\/UConnBlooms120923a011.jpg\" alt=\"The retail outlet UConn Blooms offered free roses to people attending Cornucopia on Sept. 23.
