From brand mascots and cartoon humor to large murals and refined conceptual pieces, his creations for businesses are worldwide.<\/p>\n<p>He has received fine art awards from the Society of Connecticut Sculptors, the New Haven Paint and Clay Club, and Guilford Art League, and others.<\/p>\n<p>A resident of Berlin, Conn., Giarnella attended Paier College of Art in Hamden, where he studied advertising marketing and cartoon illustration.<\/p>\n<p><strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.anneculver.com\/\">Anne Culver<\/a>\u00a0<\/strong>was a professional artist who exhibited for more than 25 years throughout the United States. She was the recipient of many awards, and her work is in many private collections. She worked primarily as a painter and was known for her depictions of landscape, volatile weather and dramatic forces of nature. She also owned Studio 404 in Guilford, where she taught classes in a variety of art media.<\/p>\n<p>Culver, who was raised in Simsbury, earned her master\u2019s in fine art from Vermont College. She died from ovarian cancer in 2012. Proceeds from art sales will benefit her stepdaughter\u2019s education.<\/p>\n<p>The University of Connecticut Health Center\u2019s collection of fine arts serves to enhance the environment and promote the sense of a caring community for patients, visitors, staff and students. Art is selected, acquired and exhibited by the UCHC Art Advisory Committee.
