In anticipation of Halloween, Alpha Lambda Delta hosted Pumpkinfest on Fairfield Way. (Ariel Dowski ’14(CLAS) \/UConn Photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

Alpha Lambda Delta, a national honor society for first-year students, kicked-off a celebration of Halloween with Pumpkinfest 2012 held on Fairfield Way on Oct. 26.<\/p>\n

In addition to trying their hands at pumpkin decorating, those who stopped by had a chance to partake in delicious fall snacks and to participate in a trivia contest. All proceeds raised were donated to the Omen (Children\u2019s Cancer) Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.<\/p>\n

ALD was founded in 1924 to recognize academic excellence among freshmen women. In the mid-’70s the organization became coeducational. UConn\u2019s chapter was formed in 1964.<\/p>\n
