{"id":69843,"date":"2012-12-07T10:21:53","date_gmt":"2012-12-07T15:21:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/today.uconn.edu\/?p=69843"},"modified":"2012-12-12T11:38:55","modified_gmt":"2012-12-12T16:38:55","slug":"gingerbread-house-contest-taps-uconns-holiday-spirit","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/today.uconn.edu\/2012\/12\/gingerbread-house-contest-taps-uconns-holiday-spirit\/","title":{"rendered":"Gingerbread House Contest Taps UConn&#8217;s Holiday Spirit"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>[flickr-gallery id=&#8221;72157632192514036&#8243;]<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Twenty-four teams competed in the 2012 Gingerbread House Decorating Competition during the Winter Holiday Celebration for faculty and staff on Dec. 6 at Rome Commons.<\/p>\n<p>The theme of the celebration was the Roaring Twenties, in a nod to the 2012-13 UConn Reads book selection, <em>The Great Gatsby<\/em> by F. Scott Fitzgerald.<\/p>\n<p>First place went to a team from the School of Business Career Center, the Ginger Snaps, for a period house from the 1920s. The winning creation will be placed on display at Gulley Hall.
