Click above for a photo gallery of the event.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n<p>The UConn Heath Center was a leading sponsor of Greater Hartford\u2019s Go Red For Women luncheon on Thursday, Feb. 14. The American Heart Association event took place at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford.<\/p>\n<p>The luncheon featured a \u201cHeart to Heart Education Session\u201d led by Health Center experts.<br \/>\nPhysician assistant <a href=\"http:\/\/heart.uchc.edu\/physicians\/bios\/biskup.html\">Bradley Biskup<\/a>, who directs the <a href=\"http:\/\/heart.uchc.edu\/clinicalservices\/lifestyle_modification.html\">Calhoun Cardiology\u2019s Lifestyle Modification Clinic<\/a>, gave a presentation concerning risk factors for heart disease, what your cholesterol and blood pressure numbers should be, and how you can reach them.<\/p>\n<p>Following that session, <a href=\"http:\/\/uconndocs.uchc.edu\/Home\/Physician?profileId=Lahey-Stephen\">Dr. Stephen Lahey<\/a>, chief of cardiothoracic surgery, <a href=\"http:\/\/uconndocs.uchc.edu\/Home\/Physician?profileId=Ferris-Anjanette\">Dr. Anjanette Ferris<\/a>, co-director of the <a href=\"http:\/\/heart.uchc.edu\/clinicalservices\/womensheart.html\">Women\u2019s Heart Health Program<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/gme.uchc.edu\/programs\/cardio\/kelsey.html\">Dr. Anita Kelsey<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/gme.uchc.edu\/programs\/cardio\/index.html\">UConn School of Medicine Cardiology Fellowship Program<\/a>, led a discussion covering heart disease prevention and overall heart health.<\/p>\n<p>UConn medical students also took part in the event by providing blood pressure screenings throughout the afternoon.
