Recognizing the risk that it could be conjunctivitis, which is highly contagious, he calls EHS, which tells him to come in an hour later. The employee clears the time with his supervisor, then takes the Main Line shuttle to the Exchange, where the clinic is housed on the second floor, Suite 262. He pays his usual co-pay, the appointment minimizes the wait time, and the employee can, if appropriate, return to his job in a timely fashion.

Contact information for the Employee Health Service. Even if the doctor’s schedule could accommodate that request, consider the time lost if the employee had to retrieve his car and travel to and from the off-campus or out-of-town visit.

“This really is a win-win,” Croteau says. “The employee receives prompt care and doesn’t have to use nearly as much sick time.”

The EHS clinic is also open to students, residents, employees of contractors, and volunteers.
