More than 250 guests attended an open house at the new UConn Health Center medical office in Southington on April 11, 2013. (Michael Fiedler for UConn Health Center)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n

The UConn Health Center flag is flying in Southington. More than 250 people recently attended an Open House at the Health Center\u2019s new Southington office at 1115 West Street<\/a> and saw the medical office first hand.<\/p>\n

During the Open House, guests from the community had a chance to meet the physicians, staff and other health care providers who are now seeing patients in Southington; take a tour of the clinical space; and learn about the range of services offered in the new location.<\/p>\n

Orthopaedic, neurosurgery and spine specialists with the Health Center\u2019s New England Musculoskeletal Institute<\/a> have been seeing patients in Southington since 2008. In January, all of those services, as well as a variety of new specialty services, moved down the road into a larger building on West Street.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re in a new location with the same great services we\u2019ve offered for years \u2013 plus a lot more,\u201d said Anne Horbatuck, chief operating officer of the Health Center\u2019s New England Musculoskeletal Institute, who coordinated many of the logistics surrounding the new location.<\/p>\n

New services in Southington include dermatology, urology, OB\/GYN care, ENT care, breast health, surgery and vascular surgery consultations, and a blood drawing station.<\/p>\n

During the Open House, the Health Center was awarded a 2013 Beautification Award from the Southington Chamber of Commerce in recognition of the new location. The award was also presented to the builder, Mark Lovely.<\/p>\n
