The VoTeR Center is operated by Drs. Alex Shvartsman, Alex Russell, Laurent Michel and Aggelos Kiayias \u2013 all faculty members in UConn\u2019s Department of Computer Science &amp; Engineering.\u00a0 The EAC grant totaled $230,000 (the maximum permitted), and Connecticut was one of just 12 contenders to receive funding for \u201clogic and accuracy testing,\u201d and one of just four states to receive the maximum level in funding.\u00a0 Read more about the VoTeR Center <a href=\"http:\/\/d45h139.public.uconn.edu\/sites\/news\/uconn-team-ensures-election-integrity.php\">here<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/d45h139.public.uconn.edu\/sites\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/faculty-news2b1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"size-full wp-image-7797 alignright img-responsive lazyload\" title=\"Courtesy of Ed Boyden Lab\" data-src=\"http:\/\/d45h139.public.uconn.edu\/sites\/news\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/07\/faculty-news2b1.jpg\" alt=\"Courtesy of Ed Boyden Lab\" width=\"229\" height=\"197\" src=\"data:image\/svg+xml;base64,PHN2ZyB3aWR0aD0iMSIgaGVpZ2h0PSIxIiB4bWxucz0iaHR0cDovL3d3dy53My5vcmcvMjAwMC9zdmciPjwvc3ZnPg==\" style=\"--smush-placeholder-width: 229px; --smush-placeholder-aspect-ratio: 229\/197;\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Dr. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.cmbe.engr.uconn.edu\/facultymccutcheon.html\">Jeff McCutcheon<\/a>, an assistant professor in the Department of Chemical, Materials &amp; Biomolecular Engineering, was invited to become a founding member of the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ctnano.org\/\">Connecticut Nanotec<\/a><a href=\"http:\/\/www.ctnano.org\/\">hnology Network<\/a>, an organization that will centralize and coordinate nanotechnology activities across Connecticut. Corporate sponsors of the network include Fuss &amp; O\u2019Neill EnviroScience; Brenner, Saltzman &amp; Wallman; and Day Pitney &#8211; Nanotechnology Practice Group.<\/p>\n<p>An invited paper written by Drs. <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ee.uconn.edu\/faculty.php?f_id=13\">Bahram Javidi<\/a>, Board of Trustees Distinguished Professor, Inkyu Moon, Mehdi Daneshpanah and Arun Anand appeared as the featured cover story in the June 2011 issue of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.osa-opn.org\/Default.aspx\">Optics &amp; Photonics News<\/a> (OPN).
