(Photo provided by American Medical Society for Sports Medicine for UConn Health Center)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The head of the UConn Health Center\u2019s <a href=\"http:\/\/uconnsportsmed.uchc.edu\/index.html\">Injury Prevention and Sports Outreach Programs<\/a> is back from Haiti, where he led a sports medicine training conference.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/nemsi.uchc.edu\/physicians\/bios\/trojian.html\">Dr. Thomas Trojian<\/a> and six other members of the American Medical Society for Sports Medicine shared their expertise with nearly 300 physicians, medical students, athletic trainers and first responders.<\/p>\n<p>Also taking part in the Sports Medicine\/Sports Trauma and Event Medicine Conference were Dr. Anthony Alessi, associate clinical professor of neurology, and Dr. Cory Edgar, a former UConn sports medicine fellow who is joining the faculty next month.<\/p>\n<p>Trojian was elected to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.amssm.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">AMSSM<\/a> board of directors in 2011.
