Update 11\/18\/2013 \u2014 The field hockey team will make its 11th trip to the NCAA semi-finals on Nov. 22 following a 2-1 win over Boston College on Saturday and a 3-0 victory over Michigan 3-0 on Sunday in Syracuse, N.Y. The Huskies will travel to Norfolk, Va., to face the University of North Carolina in one semi-final, with the winner to advance to the championship game against the winner of the Maryland-Duke game.<\/em><\/p>\n

UConn\u2019s No. 4 ranked field hockey team will face No. 11 Boston College on Saturday at 2 p.m. in the first round of the 2013 NCAA Division I Field Hockey Championship in Syracuse, N.Y.<\/p>\n

Hall of Fame head coach Nancy Stevens\u2019 team earned the automatic bid to the tournament last weekend by winning the Big East Tournament Championship in dramatic fashion with a 1-0 overtime victory over No. 7 Old Dominion at the George J. Sherman Family-Sports Complex.<\/p>\n

After playing to a scoreless tie in regulation, Marie Elena Bolles \u201914 (NUR) started a fast break toward the left side of the ODU goal and flipped a pass to Chloe Hunnable \u201915 (CLAS), who sent the ball into the cage just 63 seconds into the overtime, triggering a celebration.<\/p>\n

The winner of the UConn vs. BC game will face either No. 2 Syracuse or the winner of the opening round game between Miami (Ohio) and Michigan State on Sunday at 2 p.m. with a berth to the NCAA National Semifinal on the line.<\/p>\n

(UConn\u2019s field hockey and lacrosse teams continue to compete in the Big East Conference.)<\/em><\/p>\n
