(Peter Morenus\/UConn Photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>Other specialties offered at UConn Health Medical Services in Storrs will include occupational medicine, with Drs. <a href=\"http:\/\/uconndocs.uchc.edu\/Home\/Physician?profileId=Buchanan-Mark\">Mark Buchanan<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/uconndocs.uchc.edu\/Home\/Physician?profileId=Fitzpatrick-Robert\">Robert Fitzpatrick<\/a>; cardiology, with <a href=\"http:\/\/uconndocs.uchc.edu\/Home\/Physician?profileId=Kim-Agnes\">Dr. Agnes Kim<\/a>; orthopaedics and sports medicine, with Drs. <a href=\"http:\/\/uconndocs.uchc.edu\/Home\/Physician?profileId=Edgar-Cory\">Cory Edgar<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/uconndocs.uchc.edu\/Home\/Physician?profileId=Hall-Matthew\">Matthew Hall<\/a>; general surgery, with <a href=\"http:\/\/uconndocs.uchc.edu\/Home\/Physician?profileId=Liang-Yu\">Dr. Yu Liang<\/a>, and plastic surgery, with <a href=\"http:\/\/uconndocs.uchc.edu\/Home\/Physician?profileId=Nasir-Amir\">Dr. Amir Nasir<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Patients also will be able to get x-rays and blood work done in the new location, 1 Royce Circle, Mansfield.<\/p>\n<p>Additional clinical services will become available in 2014:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>UConn Health Urgent Care will open late winter or early spring, staffed seven days a week by physicians, physician assistants and nurse practitioners trained in family medicine or board certified in emergency medicine.<\/li>\n<li>UConn Health Dental Services, a dental suite with five treatment rooms offering general dentistry services, will be open in the spring.<\/li>\n<li>Dermatology, psychiatry, and obstetrics and gynecology services will be available later in 2014.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u201cOur presence in Storrs Center will enable us to offer people in this area of the state access to university specialists for their medical and dental care without having to travel all the way to the academic health center in Farmington,\u201d says Jim Thibeault, the UConn Health Center\u2019s director of strategy and planning,<\/p>\n<p>UConn Health Dental Services will operate as a faculty practice. A full-time general dentist will be the primary provider, supplemented by specialty faculty and a dental hygienist.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will be offering the full scope of comprehensive dental care,\u201d says <a href=\"http:\/\/facultydirectory.uchc.edu\/profile?profileId=Lepowsky-Steven\">Dr. Steven Lepowsky<\/a>, chairman of the UConn School of Dental Medicine&#8217;s Division of General Dentistry. \u201cWe want to be able to provide dental care to the University community, including students, staff and faculty.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The medical and dental offices will hold standard weekday hours, with some evening hours likely.<\/p>\n<p>UConn Health at Storrs Center comprises 18,000 square feet of medical offices and 2,600 square feet of dental offices. It will work in partnership with UConn services already in place in Storrs, including the <a href=\"http:\/\/speechlab.uconn.edu\/clinic_sh.html\">Speech and Hearing Clinic<\/a>, the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nayden.uconn.edu\/\">Nayden Rehabilitation Clinic<\/a>, and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.shs.uconn.edu\/\">Student Health Services<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cBeing staffed seven days a week, the urgent care center will be a complementary service for the Storrs community,\u201d Thibeault says. \u201cThe medical offices will provide additional specialty services currently not widely available in that area.
