(Peter Morenus\/UConn Photo)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>This week, the <i>Military Times<\/i> named the University of Connecticut to its \u201cBest for Vets: Business Schools 2014\u201d list, in recognition of its commitment to providing opportunities to America\u2019s veterans.<\/p>\n<p>It is the latest acknowledgement of the strength of services for veterans offered through UConn\u2019s School of Business, which has a record of success engaging those who have served in the armed forces.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIf you are looking for a great MBA program, and a place with great veteran support, UConn should be on your list,\u201d said George Plesko, associate dean of the School of Business.<\/p>\n<p>The school\u2019s status at 42 among 140 Master of Business Administration programs surveyed by the <i>Military Times<\/i> placed it within the top third of the nation\u2019s schools in this area. Overall, schools were evaluated in five categories: university culture, student support, academic outcomes and quality, academic policies, and cost and financial aid.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis places UConn at the top for our service members who are actively searching for a college or university to pursue their degree,\u201d said Kristopher Perry, director of the Office of Veterans Affairs and Military Programs. \u201cUConn is leading the pack and becoming a destination of choice for veterans across the country.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Within the last year, UConn launched the Office of Veterans Affairs and Military Programs, agreed to waive all application fees for veterans, and expanded fall and spring tuition waiver for veterans to include courses during the summer and winter intersessions.
