The CQIA, based in Stamford, is a group of business people, educators, health care executives, and government officials seeking to improve the economic vitality of the state using the Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award Criteria for Performance Excellence. The Malcolm Baldrige National Quality Award was created by the U.S. Congress in 1987 as a public-private partnership.

The Tech-Knowledge Portal – a U.S. Economic Development Administration-funded University Center program – provides an entry point to UConn for industry.
