Renovated Floriculture Building Debuts to Students, Families During Cornucopia
The Floriculture retail outlet UConn Blooms reached out to students and families on Sunday with free roses and a contest for students.
The recently renovated Floriculture Building made its debut to students and families this weekend during Cornucopia, an annual event showcasing the College of Agriculture and Natural Resources.
As part of the renovations, the Floriculture Greenhouse retail operations were updated and now operate under the name UConn Blooms. During Cornucopia, UConn Blooms gave out free roses to the first 300 people attending, and invited students to take part in the Keep It Alive! contest by taking home a potted plant of their choice and keeping it alive through Dec. 7, when the plants will be judged. The sale of plants grown in the greenhouses helps support the plant science department.
