Flu Vaccination Program Underway at Health Center

It is mandatory for all staff, students and volunteers to submit their vaccination status for this year's flu season.

The flu season is here and the Health Center is committed to protecting you, your family, and our patients and visitors. This year’s Flu Vaccination Program is available at no charge to all staff, students, volunteers, residents and contract workers. The influenza (flu) vaccine is the most effective way to prevent the influenza infection.

Influenza immunization data reporting is a Centers for Medicaid and Medicare requirement as of January 1, 2013. In order for the Health Center to be in compliance, it is mandatory that all staff, students and volunteers submit their influenza vaccination status for the 2013 – 2014 immunization season. This information will be maintained in a password-protected database for documentation of participation. Individualized information will remain confidential in Employee Health/Infection Prevention records.

To meet this requirement, the entire Health Center community should plan on attending one of the flu clinics. Individuals must bring their ID badge in order for their information to be entered into the database. Please verify that your badge has not expired. If it is expired, please renew your badge with Public Safety as soon as possible. You will be asked to choose one of the following options:

  1. Receive the flu shot
  2. Decline the flu shot
  3. State if you received the flu shot elsewhere

We encourage everyone to get their flu shot. There are multiple opportunities to get a flu immunization. On-site vaccinators will be available for clinical and inpatient areas for workers assigned to those areas. You may also get vaccinated at EHS by calling x2893 to schedule an appointment. Open walk-in flu clinics will be held during the following dates and times listed below:
