There’s an old joke, “Question: How can you tell an extrovert engineer from an introvert? Answer: They’re staring at your shoes, not their’s.” Okay, okay so that’s not politically correct, apologies. But seriously, we cordially invite you to participate in a very popular seminar and reception aimed at improving our future engineers’ professional, interpersonal and social skills that we’ve branded “Real Engineers Shake Hands” on Thursday, November 6 at Storrs.
The format is a 45-minute networking presentation beginning at 5 p.m., followed by a reception at 6 p.m., where our students will interact with 20 to 30 seasoned alumni, business professionals and friends of the School. You’re more than welcome to join us for the seminar, but we really need your support for the networking practice from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.. Hors d’oeuvres and beverages will be served as we set the venue for our undergraduate and graduate engineering students to introduce themselves and engage you in conversation. As an added incentive, students who participate are eligible to win an iPad Mini in the door prize drawing.
