This week, UConn Opera will present Gilbert and Sullivan’s H.M.S. Pinafore in two performances at Jorgensen Center for the Performing Arts on Friday, Jan. 27 at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, Jan. 29, at 3 p.m.

In this two-act comic operetta, when the Captain’s daughter falls for one of his sailors, the lovers experience rough seas. But in classic Gilbert and Sullivan style, true love wins the day.
