Business Law Assistant Professor Stephen Park was awarded the Distinguished Early Career Faculty Award by the Academy of Legal Studies in Business (ALSB) at the 2017 annual conference in Savannah, Georgia in August.

This competitive recognition is the highest award given to a junior faculty member who has demonstrated excellence in research, teaching, and service in the business law discipline. Park is the first member of the UConn faculty to receive this award.

In addition, he received the Bunche Award for Outstanding International Paper and the Kubasek Award for Outstanding Environmental Sustainability Paper for research on socially responsible investing and sustainable finance. These awards recognize the best scholarship presented at the ALSB annual conference in their chosen subject matter.

Park’s research is in international financial regulation, international trade law, corporate social responsibility and accountability, and corporate compliance. His scholarship has garnered numerous awards from the ALSB and the American Business Law Journal, the business law discipline’s premier academic journal, and has been featured and cited by the Financial Times, Bloomberg, and other international media and academic outlets.

At UConn, Park is the inaugural director of the Business and Human Rights Initiative, a partnership between the School of Business, the Thomas J. Dodd Research Center, and the Human Rights Institute, and co-director of the Corporate and Regulatory Compliance Graduate Certificate Program, jointly administered by the School of Business and the School of Law.
