Beginning in the fall of 2019, UConn students will no longer need to purchase tickets for home games, according to an announcement today from UConn Athletics.

For ticketed events, students will simply need to swipe their Student ID for admission, and will gain entry on a first-come, first-served basis. Sports that will employ this new process next season include football, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s basketball, and men’s hockey.

For all non-ticketed events, students will continue to gain admittance free of charge.

“I am thrilled that we have been able to partner with the UConn Division of Student Affairs to create a policy that will allow students to gain entry to our home games without buying a ticket,” said David Benedict, director of athletics.  “Our students help create an exciting atmosphere at many of our home events, and I am hopeful that this new streamlined process will entice even more students to join the fun. Students already contribute to our success through student fees, and I feel it is important to eliminate any cost to them above and beyond those fees.”

For select basketball games, student tickets will be distributed in advance. More information on these games and the ticket process will be provided later this summer.
