Every Day is Halloween for UConn Horror Club

Liam Thomas '20 (CLAS) explains how his love of all things horror grew into a full-fledged student organization at UConn.

For Liam Thomas ’20 (CLAS), horror has been a lifelong love affair.

Since his self-described “goth tween” years, Thomas has loved television shows such as Courage the Cowardly Dog, a children’s horror cartoon, which, Thomas says, his parents didn’t technically allow him to watch.

From there, his love of the genre only grew stronger. He became obsessed with all things horror, from movies to television shows, to books, and any other type of media that can capture the macabre and morbid.

At UConn, Thomas found himself longing for a community that shared his love of horror. And so, whether on a dark and stormy night or otherwise, the horror club was born in the spring of 2018.

The UConn 360 Podcast’s Maxine Philavong sat down with Thomas to find out more about the club, and what unhallowed ingredients make up the UConn horror community. Happy Halloween!
