The UConn School of Pharmacy is pleased to announce that its Doctor of Pharmacy Program (Pharm.D.)  has received a continued eight-year accreditation through June 2029 by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) Board of Directors. The formal review was completed in March 2021.

“I’d like to thank faculty, staff, alums, and students for their time and participation in the initial self-study and final presentation. We are extremely proud of our multi-faceted program and of our talented students who earn their Pharm.D. degrees with us,” said Philip Hritcko, Dean and Clinical Professor. “The results, another eight year of accreditation for our program, confirm the quality of our initiatives and the talented people behind them. I’d like to especially call out and thank Kathryn Wheeler, Associate Dean of Academic Affairs and Associate Clinical Professor of Pharmacy Practice for leading our self-study in the midst of the pandemic. Her vision and attention to detail resulted in a comprehensive and transparent report that made the review process seamless for the ACPE board.”

“I am really proud of the faculty, staff, students, preceptors, and alumni who have supported the UConn School of Pharmacy since the time of our last accreditation,” says Kathryn Wheeler. “Through all of our combined efforts, we have made some wonderful educational enhancements to maximize and personalize student learning, to more fully assess the ability of students to apply their knowledge to solve complex problems, and to more deeply engage in the communities we serve to provide students life-transformative experiences.”
